Exmoor Farmers report a fast trade throughout for a good March entry of sheep with 534 sold being Grazing Ewes, Store Lambs and Prime Hoggetts, also suck lambs. Top of £117.50 D. & H. Fuller Grazing Ewes, Prime Hoggs to £97.50 Messrs. Wright & Wright. Keen demand throughout for everything on offer.
Leading prices as follows:
Ewes £117.50 D. & H. Fuller, £112.50 Messrs. Mildon, £108.50 Chargot Estates, £103.50 M. Biederman, £100 R. Snell, £97.50 Messrs. Rottenbury, £92.50 T. Yandle, £89.80 Chargot Estates, £89.50 D. Stacey, £89.20 K. Marshall, £88.80 R. Atkin.
Shortage of better ewes sold at similar prices, lean and half meat ewes sold exceptionally well.
Suck Lambs sold to 224p/kg. 40kg I. Palmer & Son.
Prime Hoggetts selling to 210p/kg K. Parker, 204.5p/kg G. Winzer, 203p/kg Wright & Wright, 200p/kg Wright & Wright also 199p/kg.
Store Hoggs also still in keen demand selling to £85 R. Snell, £75.50 H. Mustin & Son, £74 T. Townsend, £70 K. Parker, £69.80 M.J. Reed, £67 P. Challis.
