Things to do

Our beautiful village and its surrounds are an outdoor and history lovers dream! Tucked away at the heart of Exmoor, there is plenty to explore right here from the stunning Norman church St John’s at Cutcombe to Snowdrop Valley which really does need to be seen to be believed to the spectacularly rugged landscape of Exmoor National Park.  If you don’t want to stray too far from the village, you’ll be pleased to find a shop, pub, hairdressers, garage and many other small businesses on the doorstep too.

Dunkery Beacon

Dunkery Beacon is the highest point on Exmoor and in Somerset.  At 1,705 ft, the views from the top are truly breathtaking and well worth the climb. As well as vast vistas across the wild landscape of Exmoor, on a good day you can catch glimpses of The Bristol Channel and South Wales some 86 miles away.
